Role Overview:
They are seeking a motivated and experienced Millwork Shop Manager to lead and oversee their production operations. The successful candidate will ensure high-quality products, timely delivery, and efficient operations while maintaining a safe and positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage production staff to ensure all projects meet customer demands and deadlines.
- Provide exemplary leadership across key departments, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Supervise, evaluate, and provide feedback to shop employees.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Develop, oversee, and enforce processes across all production departments.
- Plan, coordinate, direct, and optimize day-to-day operations to meet customers’ expectations.
- Increase output, asset capacity, and adaptability while reducing waste and maintaining quality standards.
- Implement modern manufacturing concepts to promote cost savings and quality.
- Quality Control and Safety:
- Maintain high-quality standards and controls in all phases of production, including raw materials, work in process, and finished goods.
- Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Promote and ensure the health and safety of all employees.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, ensuring safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, and other functions to achieve labor, material, cost, safety, and delivery objectives.
- Partner with engineering to ensure accuracy of drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for smooth and successful manufacturing.
- Support product design and development efforts to ensure success from concept to production.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Establish and monitor continuous improvement initiatives on KPIs for cross-functional/multi-disciplinary teams.
- Evaluate and improve all phases of manufacturing operations with measurable results.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Operations Management or a relevant technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ Hands-on experience in leading a manufacturing operation, in custom millwork or similar environments.
- Strong operational background with an understanding of engineering design.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt and manage change effectively.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin is required.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $35-$45 per hour
