Job Title: Purchaser
Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA), ON
Salary: $50,000 – $65,000
Schedule: Monday to Friday, In-Office
Reports to: Commercial Manager

Company Overview:
Our client is a growing lighting company, specializes in high-quality lighting solutions and is expanding its team in Canada. With 20 employees and two warehouses, we are dedicated to sourcing the best products from around the world. Currently, we have two purchasers based outside of Canada who handle international procurement. We are now looking to add a Canadian-based Purchaser who will work collaboratively with our global team to enhance our supply chain efficiency and product quality.

Position Overview:
The Purchaser will play a key role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing product orders, quality assurance, and cost control. Working closely with the Commercial Manager, this role will ensure that all products meet company standards and are delivered on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing from China and possess strong negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Place orders with suppliers and manage purchase cycles to ensure timely delivery and quality control.
• Control costs and monitor expenditures to stay within budget parameters.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on products to maintain company standards.
• Track industry trends to stay updated on innovations and new product opportunities.
• Research and evaluate suppliers, negotiating terms to build effective partnerships.
• Collaborate with internal teams to add new products to our catalog, manage packaging, and arrange shipping.
• Work closely with international and local teams to ensure alignment on sourcing and purchasing strategies.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of purchasing experience, with a strong focus on suppliers from China.
• Proven negotiation skills, especially in securing cost-effective and high-quality products.
• Understanding of industry trends and ability to make data-driven purchasing decisions.
• Experience in quality assurance, cost control, and logistics, including packaging and shipping.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
• Fluent in Farsi (Persian)

Work Environment:

• In-office position based in the GTA.
