Job Description:
The Accounting Administrator will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, maintaining accurate accounting data, and assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks. This role requires a detail-oriented, proactive individual with a strong background in accounting and experience working with accounting software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely manner.
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and records.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and internal procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end closing.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
- Maintain company’s financial records in QuickBooks and Sage 50.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required.
- Maintain accurate filing and record-keeping systems.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant Canadian accounting experience.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Sage 50 accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with financial reporting, month-end and year-end procedures.
- Strong experience with bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of Canadian tax regulations (GST/HST) and payroll processes is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
