Job Description:
The Accounting Administrator will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records, maintaining accurate accounting data, and assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks. This role requires a detail-oriented, proactive individual with a strong background in accounting and experience working with accounting software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely manner.
  • Perform bank reconciliations regularly, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
  • Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and records.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting regulations and internal procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end closing.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
  • Maintain company’s financial records in QuickBooks and Sage 50.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required.
  • Maintain accurate filing and record-keeping systems.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant Canadian accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Sage 50 accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience with financial reporting, month-end and year-end procedures.
  • Strong experience with bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of Canadian tax regulations (GST/HST) and payroll processes is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
